Where to buy old Ferguson Plow Points?

Shares for the so-called "prior model" Dearborn plows are not currently being produced.

I've been told that some Amish blacksmiths will make them.

Custom built is all you can buy. I have a set with a strip welded in place of what was missing then hard faced that are resisting wear better than originnals. If you find points for another brand they can be modified. A longer point can be shortened if nessary. Make a template of hole positions then mark them on new plow. Torch small holes at each bolt position, bring back template and remark exact positions, heat hole and use square punch to shape it. After useing template to confirm all holes are correctly positioned, grind recess for bolt head. With a little pratice and a helper to heat or hammer, you can go straight from torched hole to square punch, then quickly back and forth between ball tipped and square punches and a little more heat here and there to complete perfect holes. Pat one another on the back for a job well done"the old fashion way".

Well looks like I better eat my Cheerios and start making some. :x it is a shame there is so many old plows out there that have strong frames but no affordable parts to put on them.

(quoted from post at 08:52:03 04/27/15) Is anyone producing plow points & parts for the old style plows? Ferguson, Dearborn

Thank You!

I got a set from Clap bros in Siler City NC for my 14-A0-2B the # was CAS 179349A1 about 10 years ago for $11 and some change apiece... They had to order one of'em as they only had one in stock... They bolted right up and been plow'n good...

A guy stopped by a few weeks ago needing a set I gave him one of the old shares to compare he stopped by a old implement dealer in town and he had them. I had been by there the dealer did not have any I have been meaning to stop by his place and get a extra set are 2 for myself. I think he said they were $20 @ :D
