The Case 350 dozer I mentioned yesterday had 440 hours on it. The gentleman who owned it didn't use it a lot obviously, just recently had a triple bypass and couldn't use it anymore. The dozer really did look almost new. It brought $9600. The way the gent who bought it was bidding, I had the impression he was willing to go quite a bit more if he had to. Jeff bough a pile of 25-30 used cedar fence stakes for $5 and a round bale feeder. I latched on to a couple of piles of sap bucket covers for $100. Turned out to be 256 covers in the piles. Didn't figure $.39 apiece was too bad. I had counted 200 or more rough count, so I had a pretty good idea what I was getting. I had outbid a young fellow on both piles. There was a third pile there and I passed them up and let him have them. Jeff bid on a few other things and got outbid on all of them. He said they ?were worth more than he bid on them, but he didn't need any of them immediately so he passed them up. There was a Hesston baler that looked in very good shape without a bale thrower on it. (720 Oliver ?) I didn't see what it sold for.

I saw that dozer advertised. It looked like new in the ad. Wasn't the also a JD baler? What did that bring do you know? I went to the auction in DeKalb today. I bought an IH running gear and a ford cultivator. Towed the wagon home at 40mph no problem. I need to go back to get the cultivator.

Don,
What were the covers round tops or hip tops. When we tap we use rounds on one road and hips on the next, and alternate across the bush that way. Makes it easier for the guys gathering to know what trees are on each road.
We also have a bunch of flats with the wire pin if you are looking for more. They are nice when gathering, but a real PIB to install and tear down.
The 350 dozer with that few hrs. sounds like a real good deal. What dealer sold it??? Halseys, or CPE equipment.

not understanding this, can you humor me and explain it? thanks, Bill

Didn't pay any attention if there was dealer stickers on it anywhere. I figured $9600 was a heck of a buy for a dozer in that condition.

One pile was the round type and the other was the hip type. I have two or three of the flat type and agree with your assessment of them.

If there was a JD baler, I didn't see it, but I wasn't paying much attention to the machinery up front by the road. The articulated JD tractor was an 8430, I believe. They had a decent looking 2840 there, also.
