Cold again this AM! Big blue sky and lots of sun, though. No wind. A freight went down the tracks two miles away and I heard it clear as if it were in the back yard. Think I'll push this client thru here this AM and go out and replace the points in the 300U. Insurance won't come thru on the C50 until later this afternoon so I guess we pick that up tomorrow if I can find a helper. Not like I can walk up there and drive it home. The day has some potential though!

Still pack ice floating on the east shores of Lake Huron. Last weekend there was a Mirage across the lake . We could see Michigan building lights and vehicles driving on coastal roads south of Alpena.

Howdy neighbor! Now that is too cool. Never saw anything like that before. Just the usual water on the highway mirage. Last year the ice was really late getting off the lake. I like cold water but when I waded out into Lake Michigan last July it was almost too cold for me. Any old swathers over your way? I found a couple at a place in Canada said it was 400 miles from me. I can do that....but the lake made it a 10 hour drive. I cannot do that.

had a little snow yesterday here in MA.

Not enough to accumulate, but still - feels like adding insult to injury here after the winter we had.

No ice, but we had frost warning last night. Temps in the 30's and wind that sounds like that freight train for three days now. Way too cold for late April in Virginia.

My Father just sold his JD 800 with a 10ft platform and hay crimper to a neighbour. Of course he did not ask me first. I need something to cut 20 acres of hay.

Every time I hear Great Lakes, My mind goes back to Navy boot camp 1964. Never been so cold in all my life. It was my fault. I had a choice of San Diego or Great Lakes. Being from California, I thought it will nice to see some where new, big mistake. Stan

My great-great grandfather came over from Germany and bought that land. They moved up to Wisconsin a short time later because they couldn't take the wind off the lake.

88 degree highs, 70 degree lows and the sounds of vintage planes all day. I'm in Lakeland Fl and there is an air show at the airport. I don't need to go there since they fly overhead all day. I'll be back in MI first of next week. Turn the heat on for me will ya.

I'll get the fire goin! I think we are gonna get another 10 degrees by the time you get here. Should be pleasant to come home to!

I'll be glad to have anything between 55 and 75. I just roasting down here. Wife has been here since early Jan recovering from Chemo and I just came down 4-16 to close up and bring her home. In just this week I miss being able to go for a walk on the farm and feeding cows. Guess I'm just a Mich homeboy.

"Home is Home" got that right. Maybe more so for me. I've lived in three houses in my life. First was my grandparents, since folks couldn't afford a place of their own yet. When I was one, we moved to my great grandparents house when they died. Stayed until I was 7 and we built our own house, where I lived until I moved out. I went back to great grandpas house. It was like coming home, just felt natural. I've been there since I was 20, I'm now 52.

Sept 1968. I remember they made us sleep with the windows open. First time I ever saw clothes freeze on the clothes line.

You can't be too far from me then, buickanddeere,I've seen traffic lights blinking from the town across the lake from here. I'm just north of Goderich--you know, where all the wind turbines are--lol!! And yes, it is predicted to be record cold here tonight, calling for minus 6 Celcius---thats about 20 F for you, Dave.
