Kabota won't go backwards

My SIL has a Kabota 3130, he just recently (yesterday) replaced all the filters and hydraulic oil. He started the tractor and backed it out of his shop and drove it forward for about 600 feet and now when he pushes the pedal to back up the tractor will not move and there is a hydraulic fluid leak somewhere under the radiator at a box that all the hydraulic hoses connect to, this is not a pressure type squirt leak just drops.
Anyone had this problem before as any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

No Kubota expert here but, did you do the basics? Check the Hyd fluid level? Did your son in law maybe put a filter in backwards? While its in his head, have him go over everything he did to it yesterday. Never know what stupid thing you can do. Done it before myself, so check that first.

The area you are talking about leaking is the steering valve (orbital valve). Likely a loose fitting from before.

The linkage is the usually culprit but there could be air in the circuit. If I recall the manual doesn't list the correct amount of fluid required. Check with the dipstick remembering the side of the castings will get fluid on the dipstick sometimes and make it look full.

Well first of all I need more information. That tractor could be manual transmission with reverser called GSt or it could be a hydrostatic. You say pushes the pedal to go back so I am assuming hydrostatic. Does it still move forward and does the steering still work, answer that and we will move forward on solution.

Yes, the tractor will move forward but not as responsive as prior to the present problem. The power steering does work and it is hydrostatic drive. All the hydraulics and bucket work. So far he has checked the fluid levels (OK) and the linkage (OK). I believe he has exhausted everything emails have suggested and the Kabouta service manager gave him about the same suggestions as these emails. I noticed he has loaded it on the trailer so I think it is going to the Kabota hospital. Thanks
