Looking at a 900 Versatile or a Massey 1805 for tillage. I know the 900 has more HP, but was wondering about transmissions, axels, brakes, motors.
Any input? Thanks

I do not know about that model of Versatile but the MF 1805 is not good. I have worked on a few around here and they are a nightmare waiting to happen. Then you throw in AGCO parts support/lack of and you have a dog for a tractor.

When looking for and economical tillage tractor you look for a Versatile powered by the 855 cummins engine. The 900 has the 903 cummins. 855 powered tractors include all the 800 series (800, 850, 835, 875 and the best one: the 895) and the 9_5 moldels which are newer. An MF 1805 is just a novelty for collectors and should not be considered for a serious work tractor.
