You have to know where the buyers are

I've had a disc mower advertised here in Michigan on CL for two and a half weeks without a spark on interest. I've got it out by the road with a for sale sign on it and nobody has even slowed down.
Just for the heck of it,yesterday,I put it on Bowling Green Ky CL,saying I know it's a long shot being so far away, but the price is right. It wasn't two hours, the phone started ringing off the hook, even had an email on it from Cookeville Tn. A trucker called me just before supper wanting a zip code and measurements on it so he could give a price for hauling to a guy from London Ky who had called me.
I don't know if I'll get it sold or not,but it sure makes a world of difference advertising something where you know they'll use it.

I have been trying to get you to MOVE south for years.. I keep telling you this is where all the MONEY is. You can,t sell anything up there in NY no money... LOL Maybe you will get it sold and get ready for your summer vacation south..

9 foot Vicon, but there's no conditioning rolls or flails, just a straight disc mower. There's just flat out no market for such a thing here. You'd about need a tedder and they never caught on up here. I knew that down south they were real popular,so I figured I'd try there.
If you want it for $1000 though, and you can beat anybody else here,it's all yours.

I think it's gonna be the first of October before we make it down this year Jerry. Lee Little told me about that Roller Coaster yard sale that runs around Dale Hollow Lake,so we want to come down and check that out.

Any time of the year is a good time to come to TENNESSEE/ Old saying is we love that yankee money.. bring it on down..

I think the sign at the state line on The Simpsons said "Tenneseean is tennabelievin". lol

Whenever Bruce gets it here. I told him there was no hurry. As long as it was here by June.

Kentucky has more beef cows than any other state east of the Mississippi. Cows have paid for lots of fertilizer here this year, so there should be lots of hay made with all this rain we have been getting recently. Nathan

Would you get more for it if you sent it to a farm equipment auction.Or would that even be an option for you. There is a place called Godleys Auction here in Charlotte NC they have a sale i think its the 3rd friday in every month and stuff comes from all over. I mean that seems like a heck of a deal for just 1000 dollars.

I had to allow for trucking. Why don't you send me a check and you can make some money on it?

You've got my email address. I heard from that trucker yesterday afternoon, but neither he nor the guy who had called him has gotten back to me. Get Ethan to haul it for you and it's all yours. We've done business before, mail me a check after it's delivered and you check it out.

Ya I sold that. Had it on CL for about four and a half hours until I had the cash in my hand in hundred dollar bills.

Been watching for one... Thought a road trip would be nice. All the haybines around here are NH with rolls that have either came apart, or about to fail.

(quoted from post at 15:19:09 04/15/15) How big and how much? You should tell people when you want to sell stuff.

I do, and offer delivery (after payment is made) for $2.50 per mile for loads u der 5 tons, and advise that U-Ship is probably cheaper

That was the complaint of the guy who bought it. He said he had just looked at a NH and the rolls were coming apart. I could have sold two of them easy. There was a call about an hour before he did,but that guy couldn't come until the next day. When I told the second guy that,he said he'd be right over.

What was the reason for selling the Hesston 1120 and buying the new discmower conditioner. I have followed your posts for years do not think I ever seen you say a bad word about that Hesston of yours.

As a fellow Hesston 1120 owner/user: Can I ask how much you sold it for? It is fine if you would prefer to PM me instead of stating it in public domain.

I bought it new in 94. I grow 130 acres or so of hay and it was just getting ragged around the edges. It wasn't giving me any trouble yet,but after 20 years, with cattle being as high priced as they are right now,I decided it was just the time to replace it.
