Where are you at ? Champion of the underdog, huh? Guess I'm left to fight my own battles, such as.

Henry Fields (newest one)
2nd one, Dell Corp,
3rd, Penzoil Corp (rust proofing) lost that one.Crooked set up here in Shell Lake crooked judge.
4th General Motors.
There are others, but too much personal info to mention.

Lets take the first one first, we ordered three fruit tree's from Henry Fields supervisors, (Hindu descent) most of the day, trying to figure out what went wrong. We ordered said trees on the 7th of this month, got a e-mail confirmation and said they would be here on the 13th of this month. Well yesterday trees didn't show up, rechecked the message, they changed it to the 16th. Son called them and tried to understand their heavy accent and sort of got the answer, they were still at Henry Fields warehouse and was never shipped out.
Talked to the supervisor who was also Hindu accent. Said it was the shipping dept fault, and they sent out a incorrect e-mail ,but he will look into it and have their Shipping dept send a apology letter, and take 10 bucks off, and have them shipped out by the 17th to us.

We've had root plants shipped UPS that turned out to be dried tree limbs (other Companies) and fought to get replacements, eventually the replacements died. Cheaper is not better in some cases. We've done better with local nurseries at higher prices (way higher prices).
My thought UPS destroyed the first set before it reached our door, and UPS sent back to Henry Fields for replacements, but they won't own up to it.Now we have to wait on the second order,if it shows up.

I fought tooth and nail for the afore mention companies and won out on all but Penzoil. Their lifetime rust proofing was BS.They only offered $400.00 for rusted out doors, fenders, and hood + tailgate, old judge sided with the company, guess lifetime doesn't mean lifetime.
Dell Corp sent out our new computer and sound system which failed sent a replacement which also failed within one day upon receiving it, but then denied replacement saying they already replaced it. Now to note the replacement was obsolete the day they sent it out. Days turned into weeks, all for $21.70 for the sound switch. After I got the BBB filed and they looked into it,got a call from Dells attorney stating " it should have never happened that way" here come the check for $21.70,made a copy for our records.

General Motors went one for a couple years over a new 69 GMC suburban, with a bad machining job on the transmission, that burnt the throwout bearing and clutch every 2,000 miles.I requested a GM tech rep from Detoilet to come visit the problem. After 3 clutches, throwout bearings etc, this was a new vehicle with a leaky windshield, torn upholstery, bad u-joints.They finally replaced the transmission with a new one, all the problems quit on the clutch and etc.

So far the 706 has no problems or our garden seed, which we plowed the garden last weekend. Now going to rototill and fertilize and plant potatoes before this weekend.
Just wish Companies would do what they say and mean what they promise. They really should hire english speaking personnel people instead of routing calls half way round the world for cheaper labor.
So now, if your wondering why this 80- yr old codger truly has a disdain for BSers and know it alls, this is part of the reason, too many phoney people. I've done battle with all of them one time or another, and I'm one who will never take lies from anyone.Thought some would find this interesting reading.
Just my thoughts on the world.

Sometimes you need to read the fine print before you hand over your hard earned money.

Case in point that "lifetime" rustproofing. They know darn well that unless you get PERFECT coverage, and never ever get so much as a scratch in the coating, that it WILL fail and your vehicle WILL rust.

I'm sure there's a loophole in the "lifetime" guarantee that states if the coating is "improperly applied" or if it is "compromised" (i.e. scratched or rubbed off) that the warranty is null and void. The burden of proof is on you, and since there is no way you can prove anything, they win.

Anyone with any science in their background and any common sense at all should realize that there is no such thing as permanent 100% effective rustproofing, because you can NEVER get into every crack and crevice, and there is no way you can prevent scratches and dings.

mkirsch Your so correct. Fine print gets us every time. Dealer has all the sales gimmicks at his disposal so I took his word as a reputable decent individual who I've known for quite some time. Never again.
Thanks for the reply.

LOU- I don't respond to your posts because you asked me not to. This post takes the cake and I have to speak my mind.

First- Henry Fields...You placed an order. It did not arrive when they said it should. You called and told them. They took care of the problem plus gave you 10 bucks off. Problem solved.

Dell Corp- I too, would expect a 'working' computer system when I purchased it NIB. They sent you a replacement which had problems too. I would be upset also. You did not say how you found out it was a bad 'sound switch'?

Anyway, your computer is now working properly and the repair sound switch costs $21.70. Dell sent you a check for $21.70. Problem solved.

So, was it worth the time "Days turned into weeks" plus the time filing the BBB complaint for $21.70? or was it just an ego trip?

I'm not trying to say $21.70 is not important but, was it worth all the time and stress you endured?

Penzoil Corp- Judge ruled against you. End of story. Problem solved. Why would you call him crooked...is it because he ruled against you?

General Motors- "new 69 GMC suburban". Lou, you do realize that was 46 years ago? Why bring that up?

"So far the 706 has no problems or our garden seed, which we plowed the garden last weekend." Seems to me that you are either looking for problems or hoping for them just for something to complain about....."I've done battle with all of them one time or another".

If I understand your post correctly, all complaints were satisfied/remedied.

Just like last year when you complained about a logger asking a few dollars more per cord of wood. You came on here moaning about it and most everyone said that his price was a fair price. You decided what he was doing was 'Highway Robbery" and chose to have you/your family cut and split their own wood from your property. I don't fault you in the least for your decision but I also don't fault the logger for his pricing.

Lou- getting yourself that stressed out over this stuff is not worth it, especially holding onto something that happened 46 years ago.

Geez Lou, 69 'burbans were cr*p from day one. Why obsess about something that old, from an era when most cars were bad? As for your other "problems" sounds like you are just wanting to complain about problems that were resolved... it's called life, live it.

To all those who replied, with exception to Greg1959, who I won't waste my time with, cause he can't keep his word. Just like the people I complained about.

WHAT YOU ALL FAIL TO REALIZE is the fact that you lack the strength of moral character to challenge corporations that stick it to you year after year, whereby you consider their business practices to be the norm and acceptable without exception. I truly feel sorry for you, but then again, when you lack the courage to make their wrong- right! I have always been an upstanding individual when it comes to doing business, never stealing( as the afore mentioned Companies have) under the guise of doing business. I have read on here several posts that complain about business, auctions,LP gas dealers, tractor haulers, renters, shyster lawyers, other farmers taking advantage of others, so to them all the anti comments concerning my posts fits them perfectly. Over the years I've pushed back against their unethical business practices, and will till my last breath. It keeps me from being a Milquetoast like most. It has nothing to do with stress, just be treated fairly and honestly, which should be done for all . There seems to be a lot of narrow mindedness, which most of the repliers are in favor for and exhibit in their words.

I am proud I am a strong willed individual, not willing to be their victim no matter how large or small they appear to be in the business world. Those who replied to my post must be willing to overlook Companies transgressions,I am not one, and it has nothing to do with stress and everything to do with principles. What most don't realize is, to make the companies to stick to their word and honest business practices, it takes time from me to argue the point to them, which could be used for other projects to be done. Thereby, wasting my time to make them understand it is not acceptable for most people and to be treated honestly and keep their word. Imagine people saying something and staying true to it til completion, not a bad idea. Just a shame the repliers feel its ok to let Companies slide and get over on the little guy, because they can. As an example, redoing our tubing on the 706 bucket lift we called Westendorf Co. for their ID tubing size and thickness, their reply was " that information was a trade secret and they wouldn't give out that information". We called a Stainless steel tubing manufacturer with the size we needed and was assured they had it in stock, and had to make a trip to Minneapolis to pick it up. We drove to Minneapolis, their distributor didn't know anything about it. There we set in the boiling sun calling several different individuals from the company we first talked to, we contacted the original owner of the Stainless steel tubing company, and he assured me it was on the truck for todays shipment and the trucker would meet us in Stone Lake,Wi , AT NO EXTRA CHARGE TO US,he even included an extra piece in the shipment FREE, sure enough we got our tubing, that was an honest business man, and we called him back and told him we appreciated his honesty, and we would do further business with him from time to time. We bought a commercial tubing bender and fabricated our own lines for the loader for the 706 tractor.

Most of these posters would have quit, and never called the supply company to let them know the unfairness of their business practices.

Enough said.
