Is it just me, or do the insane shipping prices make this site essentially useless? Has anyone bought from here? Everything I am interested in has such a high shipping price, I may as well walk into a gun store and pay full retail without haggling.

Welcome to the realities of the firearms business. Shipping single items is horribly expensive under today's business conditions. And there isn't anywhere near enough markup in firearms for the dealers to absorb shipping costs. By the way, those "full retail prices you "pay" at the dealer" aren't even close to the Manufacturers Suggested Retail in most cases.

My main gripe is small items. If you want $65 for it, state that in the price. Don't list it for $50 and then tack on $25 shipping after the sale for a 2 pound item. But I suppose that is where they get their profit, from people who don't read the fine print.

I have bought many items from that site in the past. I always liked it. The shipping was pretty expensive on long-guns, but that's just the price of business. I havent used it in a while since the NYS safe act really made internet firearm sales a pain in the a*s

Can't do it that way. Shipping prices vary wildly depending on the distance from the seller. Shipping short distance may only cost $15 dollars and shipping to someone further away may cost much more than $25. Generally, shipping handguns costs much more than shipping long guns, too.
You can't figure the shipping costs until the seller knows where it is going.

When I sold on eBay, I always linked the shipping calculator so the customer could figure shipping and there were no surprises and they paid for what they were getting.

I have sold a few long guns on Gunbroker and its difficult to ship any of them anywhere for less than 20 or 30 dollars and that doesn't even include the price of boxing it up good. I admit it is aggravating to buy a $60 rifle and pay $30 shipping.

Never used it but I have used Armslist. Shipping was a problem there also. I ended up only shopping in my home state and buying in arms length transactions with the seller.
