Question for those watching Decorah Eagles

Adirondack case guy

I haven't had time to maintain a constant vidual of the comings and goings. The little guys are changing color and the late sibling hatch seems to be doing well, BUT there seams to be a lacking of fresh fish and small game in the nest. MY question is, are both adults still alive, or did one of them perish, electricution or ?????. I haven't seen the pair together in the nest lately, when I'm tuned in.

Well, HECK; I broke from the cam, to post here and made this post and went back to the cam, and ;low and behold both parents were there.
It is very facinating to watch them, plus the others in PA and MN.

Saw them both over the weekend. Growing youngsters and two grown eagles eat a lot. In past years there was extra on the nest at hatching time and shortly after. When they start getting bigger the prey goes faster.

Loren,
Funny, I was starting to wonder the same thing about the MN pair. They must just both be out hunting. But the MN cam has been down today... at least for me.

This morning when I was watching I saw the adult pick meat off of what appeared to be a fish and feed it to the young ones. It knew how to pick out small enough pieces that they could handle.

They should have a good supply of fish, seeing as they are just across the road from the trout fish hatchery there!
