Last year cutting hay

Hope this year is as good of crop. I was only taking about 2/3 of cut as just too big of windrow! Haying seems a long way off. One of my favorite jobs cutting hay with the 2-70 and 479 NH

Hard to beat NH hay bine keep chains oiled and lots of grease on the wobble box and they go for a long time. What gear do you run in normal conditions? I find 3rd over is about right

Yep, third gear direct (2-speed) about 1800 engine rpm is perfect. Lodged over first crop I may grab second gear.

That 479 is a great machine. I bought mine well used a few years ago and it is the best cutting machine I've owned to this point. For the little bit of hay I have to cut it should last me forever.
