Started the garden today!

I started my tomato plants last month. Probably won't be planted in the garden until May. Hal

I transplanted 40 tomato plants on Mar 8th. They are 2 ft high and loaded with blooms.
I try to get them all picked by late June because the heat is so brutal in July.

The weather is so inconsistent in May anymore I gave up on starting my own tomatoes. Also, I can get more variety as I can get 6 to a flat versus buying a packet of seed. A lot can change in 30 days but we are not off to a good start on spring at this point in time.

Garlic is 10" tall, planted 11,000+ onion plants this week and 1000 feet of beets planted out here. Peas will go in next week, then beans and corn starting the end of the month. Tomatoes, peppers and eggplant stay in the greenhouse till June.

Say, that looks pretty good. Do you have to add dirt to the inside of the stacked bales? Or is the ground already tilled and you just throw down a little hay to hold moisture? Thanks.
