For sale locally,has a harsh hoist and new aluminum fuel tank.Owner says runs and drives decent.Asking 1500.Any input or comments about these trucks?Thank's Paul.

Reliable and solid. Make sure the Build Ticket is in the glove box (also called a Line Setting Ticket) the company made trucks from several suppliers from axles to charging systems to ignition. The ticket is not a deal breaker, but very handy. If it is an auto trans there were issues with flex plate cracking, but not common. Get a manual. Jim

They were good trucks. I drove a 74 loadstar school bus with the 345 and really liked it. Around here that truck would be three times that.
Line Set ticket is helpful when getting parts as long as components haven't been changed through the years.
BTW you can get replacement Line Set's can be ordered or at least they used to. Got a replacement for my 77, memory fades but I think it was about 15 years ago.

Hi Just make sure you can get parts for it. About 10 years ago the seed plant i worked for borrowed one with the option to buy it as a spare yard and field truck. The comment was there are some parts that are NLA or hard to get, I can't remember what though now.
we didn't buy it for that reason. After i got it running on 8 cyls again it was a good truck for a 300 or so bushel box, But it liked fuel to. it's an old truck and old trucks can have there moments as with anything used to.
Does it need a safety inspection in your state to if you buy and register it. That can make a cheap truck expensive to. Don't ask how I know that!!!!!.
