My old Air comp died. I want to use the tank for extra capacity by hooking it up to my new air comp. Can I use hydraulic hose to join them? Thanks. Bill
 
Yes, you can use hyd hose. I have a piece between the tank and the line that is attached to the wall. It is a vibration damper , Have used it about 15 yrs now and it was an used piece of hose then. clint
 
One concern, if you are going to use this compressor to paint with in the future, is there enough residual oil in the hydraulic line to contaminate your paint job?

I would be sure to use a light, etc. inside one of the air fittings so I could see the walls of the tank. If it is very old the chances of it being rusted and pitted on the inside are pretty good. It may not be worth the effort.
 
Same here as what oleclint said.....although I bought a new hose....over 10 years now, and it does make a nice damper. Better than a fixed line.
