Does anyone know of someone having a 6 volt snow plow pump, I'm thinking of putting one on my Farmall H because it is 6 volt and I would like to keep it 6 volt. Woes the battery last very long. The motor on my pump is bad and I thought that if I had it rebuilt I would have it changed to ^ volt positive ground. I would appreciate your remarks. Al71

A simple one wire alternator and a battery in a marine battery box is cheaper, and reliable. Use ihe belt pulley or PTO to spin the alternator. PTO will meed a 12" pulley for speed. Jim

A starter shop could rebuild the motor but you need to remember that the 6 volt genny is slow to recover form a draw like that.

I set one up for my Dad on a 340u(6v)just as you suggested. There was only 1 mod-I had to put a double pulley on the generator so I could run the 12v alternator off it.Made a bat mount and alt mount that went on and off with the plow.Mark PS -it worked great.
