Posting pictures?

Over the weekend I could not post a picture to save my life without it being huge and could not get them to post. I really thought I was doing something wrong and I started to notice I was not the only one having this problem. Did something happen to the site? I did notice that the posts doing it all had Links attached to them. Or am I totally lost?

To keep it tractor related this is the 1555 Oliver I fixed and sold last year. And it works now! Bandit

Bandit,

Now on Classic you can upload multiple photos in one fell swoop like on Modern.

Have to make sure your photo file names have NO SPACES or SPECIAL characters in them. Also I THINK... file extensions have to be in lowercase - as in .jpg rather than .JPEG

This is crazy! When I posted this it worked just like before, Now posting to you it has gone to like it was over the weekend with all the Link URL and Optional Image and Video URL Links and more. How do I keep it like it was? Or is this the new way to go? If so I am going to have a problem figuring this out. Bandit

Let's try 2 and see how that works

Bandit I'm not sure but if you mean all the URL info in the comments box, they don't show up when you post

Take a deep breath and calm down lol it could be worse

I have never used Modern, just Classic, and just posted a pic on Talers and it went through in a flash. It had been takeing up to a couple of mins. to upload and post each pic. I like the change.

My DSL went down yesterday morning and didn't come back up until sometime this afternoon. It sure was peaceful when I couldn't get on here.

I can post one. That's it. I posted one on the Oliver forum before supper. Haven't been able to post another one since. Must be you're limited to one every 24 hours or something.

When I try to post to my own post its like it gets inbreed with modern and classic view with picture and video down loads. If it would let me post a picture it will come up 300% bigger than the screen and it wont upload. I don't know what the problem is. Bandit

Try again, How knows what's going on?

Well I'll be danged it worked this time. I guess the gremlins are on the loose! Bandit I'll see if it will let me add another one? Bandit

It was doing that for me too on the Oliver forum. I used the snipping tool to copy it and it showed up normal sized on the first posting page, but it wouldn't post. It worked on Site Comments and works now on the Oliver forum since they've reactivated the old system over there. It works the old way,but not the new way.

I think our generous hosts are doing some 'upgrades', and us(mostly) non-'puter types have to catch up. (How's that for brown nosing?)

They are making some changes to the forum, partly to keep the popular search engine company happy so things work with phones.

As long as they are at it, they are trying to make picture loading easier.

With the very many web browsers on computers, tablets, and phones we can use, that is proving to be a bit tougher than expected.....

They are tinkering with it, in the end it will be better, just will have to get used to a little different is all.

Bandit,

Disregard the NO spaces comment on photo file names... saw a post in Site Comments today that said it will now allow spaces in photo file names again.

I think it will actually be better once they get the bugs worked out of it.

And it does allow photo files to be much larger... mine were turning out huge too - so I just reduced the pixels more so they wouldn't be so big.

Sweetfeet,we're working on it down there, but I need to know which version of Windows 7 I have. I know I've found it before, but I don't remember how. Do you know so I can find it real quick?

Oh Mighty YT Gods,,,,,,, Were not worthy were not worthy were not worthy!!!!!!!! Thou has blessed us with thine providence to allow we mere mortals to use thine site to educate our self's with thine generous blessings. All hail the Mighty YT Gods! Your humble servant, Bandit Esquire

Go to start ,then right click on my computer then click properties it should tell you there in the general tab. hope this helped

I thank you both. I went to that and it just said Windows 7 Home Premium. I was thinking I'd found something once before that said version 8 or some such thing. I can't find that now.
