Wanted to know if anyone has added a secondary transmission to their cub tractor. Mine is high geared. A lower gear would make the tractor more usable in my opinion

Howard rotovator had a reduction attached to the rear final and even used two of them one on each side asking price on the last one i seen for sale was 1000.

There is a gear reduction that fits between the transmission and final drive, as mentioned earlier.

However, these are EXTREMELY rare. Good luck finding one, and when you do, you're not gloing to like the price.

I'm sure something custom could be done, but it would be a project for a master machinist in his home shop as a challenge in his spare time. It would not be cost effective to pay a machinist to build something like that for you. At that point you'd be money ahead finding a hydrostatic drive compact tractor to do the work.

Well, if you have money and want to tinker you might want to start with a Sherman under drive unit made for the Ford 8Ns etc. Perhaps a mechanist could modify the cub/Sherman unit to make them work together.

True but requires 10 weights on each rear wheel (but will not tip over) and duals. Front weights include a 409 chevy block. Jim
