Cherry picker jack

Has anyone ever had a cherry picker jack apart to rebuild? Have an older jack on mine (long one) that likes to settle and would like to get it fixed.

explain-likes to settle- as in slowly leaks off a small amount than stops? or will it slowly drop to the bottom? mine would drift from where you wanted it, pump handle would rise to top before it would stop--[check ball/balls. piston cups can be a problem too, archives has good pics of hydraulic jack repair, [same, pretty much] I think by Hobo nc

I can jack it up a little ways and with no load on it, it will slowly settle. Just wondered if they are worth repairing or better off buying a new jack. Im sure most all of them are made in china anyway.

I bought a new air over hyd from HF on sale for 55.00. And I don t have to jack the thing up anymore(as soon as I put it on)

Mine would not stay up I removed the pump jack screw (screw that you turn to let down are to pump up) the end had broke off I could not get it out... After two trips to Northern Tool I got a jack that worked...

If you have the time to play jacks are simple...

You can Google rebuilding jacks lots of good info...

BTW I found a rebuild kit for a Blackhawk floor jack my BIL brought 15 years ago new in the package never opened if anyone needs a kit let me know it can be brought cheap... I remember he paid over $50 for it..
