Look at an 2002 JD gator has 450 hr showing on the clock. The rear tire r shot. Grand kids running over something. But it started It's been used on a farm most life. Belong to a good friend grandmother I am looking at pricing with out cheating her thanks. Seats r shot. Needs a good bath. Scratch up. Has new drive belt. 2 sets of filter. Setting in the bed.
 
It must be one of the "old and slow" ones. They are pretty bulletproof. The one around here has just under 1000 hours on it. Original tires, but I have started putting tubes in them.

You won't win any races or chase any cattle, but it would be a good buy. Check to make sure the bolts on the lift cylinder are tight. They work loose and then it strips out the gear. They are kind of cold blooded old things. I think ours is about that vintage.
 
sounds like a whole lot more hours then it's showing, I have a utv with 700 hours and has good rubber and seats are like new
 
IF those hours are really true hours then you would be in the $1500-2500 range. The seats cushions will crack with age. You really need to treat them regularly with vinyl protectant.

Those older Gators are slow but they are rugged and pretty safe for kids.
 
I had a 96? 6 wheel gator . Seats rough , new primary clutch and belt, good tires . It had cab but no doors or windshield. I sold it for $2600 if that helps any .
 
I've got one with 300 hours,tires are like new,seats are a little dirty,but no cracks. Nice ones around here will bring in the 4500 range.
 
I was looking at JD Gators a while back, and came to the conclusion they are way overpriced for what they are. Check out a new Honda or Polaris, It might surprise you!
 
Thanks for the reply I brought it today. Got it home. And got the rear tire off there shot . Now try to find some tires for it. Change the oil and filters. The drive belt on it did not look to bad. Now get it clean up. My little boy says it his. Lol. Thanks
