Farmall loader help

Ok, I am bringing this back to the top of the page. My friend has a 656 International Harvester gas utility tractor. He just bought an International model 2000 loader for it. It supposedly came off another 656 utility. I took some pictures of the front mount to see if anyone could identify them or explain how they mount to the tractor.

I had a 2001. Those brackets mounted on the side of the tractor. Mine was on a 350 though and I made it over for a 3010 Deere, but look for the holes where it would bolt to the sides toward the front.

Did you scroll down to see where those brackets are mounted on the 350 in ypop's pictures.

That bracket mounts on the side toward the front on the 4 bolts by the radiator.

Yes, I did. but the brackets look nothing like the brackets in my pictures. the 4 bolt holes in the bracket match with the 4 holes below the radiator on the 656, but the sheet metal around the radiator will not let the bracket sit flush with the chassis. There has to be a plate or bushings on the bolts for it to mount correctly. I want to know what the factory used.

The holes are directly below the radiator sheetmetal on the frame, but the sheet metal sticks out past the frame about an inch and will not let the brackets sit flush to the frame.

Parts book shows you have correct bracket for 656 utility. Book makes no mention of spacers. If you need some make it from steel plate the thickness you need.

On our 574 We have a bracket something like that only shorter. It is straight up along the side of the tractor. It clears the tin work We did have to add a piece to the top side as it would bend open or upward. I would guess you need to see your dealer to see if the front bracket is/was different or just as already said just space it out with some plate. Drill the holes out in the back bracket for 3/4 bolts if not done so. Use double nuts on then also. Locking nuts won't hold it. Don't be afraid to tighten them up either. Use at least grade 5 bolts.

#9 is the bracket, it shows a lot bigger step than what the bracket in my pictures has. Makes me think that it is the wrong bracket. Thanks for the Diagram.

I have a 2000 loader on a 544 utility. Same brackets that you picture. It bolts to the front casting with bushing type spacers. 2 rows of 4 bolts in the casting. Bracket bolts to holes #2 and #3 (from the front) in each row--4 bolts each bracket.

Just make two rectangle 1/2" plates for each side that would fit under the four bolts. I think adding an inch to each side would work. If you look at the diagram I'd posted in your other post, some of the mounts pictured had two plates between the bracket and the tractor rail. Flat plates would be stronger with more support than bushings as spacers.
Or you could fab some brackets for a 656 like those pictured. Brackets on my 756 are for a 460,560 or 504. They can't be seen and I don't notice the difference.

The 544 and 656 are both the same width so stand-off bushings 1" long should do the job. I cut some out of 3/4" galvanized water pipe.
