What a Terrible day.....
I found her face down in the drive today (Blue) and gave her CPR and called the Squad.
She is in Riverside Hosp. in Cols, OH.
Looks like she passed out, fell forward on her forehead so hard she may have damaged her Spine.
Has not moved her arms today and they were taking her down for an MRI on her neck..
She is 87 but has a 50 year old Mind and Body...
Please Pray for her, Guys...
Thank you...
Ron..

I am very sorry to hear this. Prayers sent for your mother, you, and the rest of your family.

Prayers sent. My wife had just finished exercising in front of the TV and I asked her if she wanted to go for a walk. We got about 100 feet from the house and she fell forward real fast and landed on her face. She was in her late 60's. It hasn't happened since; we guessed that she had a momentary glitch in oxygen to the brain after doing her exercises.

Except for a couple scratches, she was not hurt.

Prayers being sent for your mother.
My mom was falling at home for the past two years. We found out her blood pressure was high and when she would stand up from sitting her pressure would drop and she would fall forward. Finally the doctor told her and dad it's either assisted living or in home health care. We chose assisted living for them on January 1st this year and they really like it. Mom hasn't fallen since and has improved mind wise. She will be 87 next Sunday! I hope all goes well for your mom Bushogpapa!!

Sent. Hoping for the best for you and your family. It can be difficult caring for older people who have the mindset and (generally speaking) the ability to be on their own and go out and about. their body often is not completely up to the task their mind sets out on. Sadly, small mishaps usually change things forever for them.

My grandpa was 89, and very active when he had a accident that was the beginning of a long slow down for him. He was in the skidsteer (doing his garden stuff) and stepped out of it as he had done probably close to a million times. Unfortunaly, he did not have the quick couplers locked holding the bucket on the skidloader. When he stepped on the cutting edge, the bucket popped off the couplers and raked down the back of his right leg. It skinned his right leg and took almost a year to heal (greatly due to his own stubbornness). That spring dad and I took over operations of the farm. He was never quite the same again. He continued to live at home until his death last November.

It is just so sad how one misstep for the elderly who are so self sufficient can be the beginning of a life changing event for them.

Prayers for you mother

Thank God you were there to begin CPR before the EMS arrived. This can make a huge difference. Hopefully she will achieve a complete recovery. Will be praying for her full recovery.

OMG, Guys, she is AWAKE and TOTALLY Paralyzed...

What have I DONE..?

She is paralyzed from her neck down and fully awake..
Cannot breath or speak or move anything...

How can I deal with this...I can only see her saying good bye and choosing to refuese the Ventilator..

OMG, I am so screwed up, I can't even sleep or un-wind to rest...

My Daughter only allows Mom to watch her (Great Grand Children) and is distraught over her Grandma and I can't do anything to help her...

PLEASE PRAY for our family guys.. This is about as bad as it can get...

THANKS for your support..I REALLY Appreciate it..

Good Bless you ALL...
Ron..

Praying for all of your family in this difficult time, if you know how she feels then honor that, you will look back and know you did the right thing.

Bushogpapa: It sound bad right now. Make darn sure that her condition is permanent. Then make decisions after careful consideration.

NOW DO NOT blame yourself in anyway for her condition!!!!!!! You kept her a live so that she made it to the hospital alive. THAT gave her a chance.

Now it is up to modern medicine and the man upstairs.

IF you need someone to talk to or even just rant or vent. Email me and we can exchange phone numbers. I would be glad to talk to you or just listen if that is what you need/want.

Thanks to everyone...

I visited my family Dr today and got some doggy-downers and they seem to have taken some of the edge off. and I got some rest, then..
I hear they may put the tube in her throat, so it won't be in her mouth and we should be able to better read her lips..
You all HELP with every Prayer you give up..I am busy adding to them, too...
Thank you ALL...

Ron.

1. It isn't your fault so don't blame yourself.

2. She's 80. That's getting up there. Hopefully she pulls through this and will still be able to do for herself but face it, she isn't going to be around forever.

3. Prayers sent, not only for her but for you too! You have to maintain! There are other's in your family who are going to want to lean on you.

Rick

First of all you didn't cause this by beginning CPR. They should be able to find the cause either from a brain injury or spinal cord C1-C7. They can sometimes use an electrical implant instead of a ventilator for her to breathe. Family members can offer encouragement while visiting her. She can still understand spoken language at this time. Will be praying for Your mother and the rest of the family. Richard

I don't think it was anything you did. Are you sure she didn't have a stroke? I will pray for her recovery. My mom is 86.
