Height of Tractor on trailer

I was wondering what the heights would be for having a tractor on trailer. I might be looking at buying a house that has a garage that's 48' deep. With a garage door being 8' tall and 16' wide. I would like to have the trailer connected to the truck. With the tractor being on the trailer. This way if I ever have to go anywhere, I'll be ready to go first thing in the morning.

All depends on the tractor and trailer. I had to shorten the exhaust pipe on my Farmall 350 a couple inches to get through my 8-ft door with the tractor setting on its own wheels, let alone on a trailer. A fairly low tractor on a "deck between the tires" trailer would probably be fine. A deck-over trailer or taller tractor might give you problems.

Doesn't your pickup just clear an 8' door. What type of trailer? What type of tractor. Car hauler, or over the axle.

I doubt the tires would clear with tractor on trailer with 8' door, put in a 12' you should be fine.

What tractor?? Many of the older fords may fit like say the 9N/2n/8N or the NAA or the 601 or 801 series or some of the utility type tractors. If the exhaust is not to tall or run horizontal

I didn't notice if the height of the trailer has been listed yet, or the height of the particular tractor.

In snow country, allow another 6 inches clearance for snow and ice buildup at the entrance.

A regular flat deck trailer will be close to 36" at the top of the deck. You can shave a couple off that with 15" tires. Between the fender trailers are about 22" at the deck generally. Again they very a bit with axle and tire choice.

Two of my tractors are seven ft tall. Go for a taller door. I would want a ten foot or more door.

You didnt say what kind of a tractor but 8ft is not high enough for any tractor on a trailer to clear unless its a compact.

The muffler on my Farmall a will barely clear an 8' door. No way on a trailer even at 9'. The roll bar on my B-7100 Kubota (very small compact) won't make it either unless I get up a good head of steam.

This is a question that you could answer youself. Measure height of trailer floor from ground and measure height of tractor from ground to the highest point of tractor. Then add two together and see what you come up with as height. "Very Simple"

Actually I might do that instead. I'm not going to worry about height of trailer in garage. The day before I trailer the tractor to a show, parade, or cruise I'll have it on the trailer with the cover on it. It'll be hooked up to the truck ready to go. The tractor I would like to get is a Ford 8n. Also eventually a John Deere from the 50s. Not sure which model though.

(quoted from post at 19:31:02 03/12/15) If you want to be "ready to go first thing in the morning" why don't you just load up the day before.
What, and leave his tractor sit outside all night. What are you thinking?
