The local muffler shops says they can fix this up. I shook my head. OK guys. Most everything in the tranny was ripped out on the floor. No thanks. Ties a whole bay up in the shop and customers are screaming!

Send it my way, if it's fixable, I can do it.....Personally I've had some torn down as far, or further than what your describing. In fact I had one in about two years ago that had all 4 tires, and axels out of it, as well as everything inside the chain case. Just before that I had done a second one that had both drive motors, and the whole inside of the chain case out. In other instances I've had the engines out and pumps out, making the inside look really bare. I don't have any pics of the Bobcats, but check out the pics of a D9G Cat Dad and I did some years back. Except for the ring and pinion, there's nothing left in the top end of the machine that we didn't have out and completely rebuild. Basically we tore it down and started back with nothing but a set of tracks with an empty frame in between.

Ultimately I believe the 'muffler shop' might be able to repair an obvious exhaust leak, but unless they really know what they are doing, I'd say that Bobcat is doomed.......LOL

Wayne you got more guts than me! I play with saws and garden tractors and a few other toys but no thanks.

They only make so many kinds of parts, it just depends on how you put them together as to what they do.....

A man told me this years ago, and I've found it to be true on pretty much every job I've ever taken on. The biggest difference is the size of the part...........and sometimes the number of them.......LOL

Here's a few more pics of a 77B Bucyrus Erie crane Dad and I did about 10 years ago. This project took 19 weeks from start to finish. Like the D9 it was gutted. The lower was stripped bare, and gutted, and only thing we didn't take out of the upper was the engine, torque converter, and chain case. Now this one was as fun, if not more fun, than the dozer.
