I posted about 2 weeks ago how to get rid of ground hogs now I cant find the post??? anyways how do you kill groundhogs and I don't have time to shoot them. please help

I read somewhere that dumping some gasoline in the dens will kill them pour some in,and seal the enterance and the fumes do the work

I think my answer made it go "POOF" , Sorry about that. Maybe too much detail in my answer.

Anyway you should go to YouTube and type in "onelonlyfarmer blowing up ground hogs" and you will get the idea. Its fun to watch how others deal with them. Bandit

The bombs you can get at the local feed store or such. Get the BIG ones. If they don't cost like $5.oo ea. then they aren't big enough. About the size of a package of premix cookie dough. I bought a package of cannon fuse and put about a one foot long fuse on so I have plenty of time to shove it down the borrow and shovel the dirt back in. Make sure to seal all holes before you start. If you see any white smoke some place shovel quick to cover it. There are other things like peanut butter and crackers but have not tried them. Sinse they are close to squirrels and such, the green rat poison pellets should work too. By the way. They say with the bombs "not under buildings", I would guess that would be your house. Cyianide is what the bombs make. Farm buildings with a breeze blowing I can see no problem. By the way #2.. During the Fourth of July season a lot of fire works stand sell those really big smoke bombs. They make a BOAT load of smoke. Have a FIVE minute burn time. Read the lable. They are the size of a really big sausage. Throw a couple of them down there and they should do it with just smoke inhalation. Have fun Jeffcat

run a hose from the exhaust pipe in to the hole and block all others that will gas them out!

I have found it is better to let the air get out at the far end hole for a couple of minutes. Stand by with a shot gun but the job goes quicker and works better. Shovel them shut after a few minutes with the end being open.

We live-trap all our's and take them for a 5 mile ride out to state-land. More work them killing them but makes me feel a little better. I can't see killing something just for the heck of it. Now - if my wife wanted to make some woodchuck stew - I might feel differently. I know one thing. If you get caught dumping gasoline down a 'chuck hole in places like NY - you could wind up in jail. NOT because of harm to any woodchuck. More about EPA regs.

I had them dig holes in machine shed and found its a great place to get rid of old glass nails etc they don't like digging through sharp stuff and move on also a good rat terrier will kill them

Never had any real luck with Groundhogs and Live traps.. Conibear (Large) or PU truck exhaust and shotgun are always the best in my area..

A .22 short and you don't give someone else a headache..
Why haul it somewhere else..Kill the Vermin and be done with it..
Shove it down it's own hole and hope non come back..

I went to the local electrical supply and bought a 6 foot piece of the armor that you run electric wire through and used my lawn mower to gas them, works great, tried the car and didn't work as good,..was told the emissions control takes out to many pollutants .....go figger, something that works

OK there is one more reply. Found where I had stashed the hog bombs. Just understand that these bombs can kill you if confined, so take care! The coin is a quarter. The smoke bombs make a WHOLE bunch of smoke if you can't find hog bombs. They are Cheaper too. We use them to do night photos where you want to have "fog" behind your subject. Makes some cool effects! Jeffcat

It works pretty good for exhaust work. Kinda like the old BX cable. WELL maybe I should qualify that. They DO make flexable exhaust that is Stainless and not too cheap and yes I hooked up a genset with it in a shed that is NOT hooked to the house. Works great, just make sure you insulate it so you don't burn the joint down!

Almost as good as the guy putting on the truck tire. Bet Myth busters ain't gonna touch that one. On the web there was a bubble head that did it and then couldn't figger why the tire would suck itself back in????? DUHHA just take out the valve core before you start dummy.

Sorry forgot...using the gas fumes and lite ure up Paw !Under ground explosion. Try propane gas too. Did you ever see the guy who built the vacuum machine that sucks the prairie dogs out of their borrows? And it doesn't hurt them.

I had 5 different ground hog burrows spread around the yard last summer, I counted 12 critters incl little ones one day.
I started cleaning them up with the .22, i shot 4 out of one nest on the first day.
All the other ones must've left cause i never seen one since.

From what I saw a few weeks ago, don't try to kiss one on the nose.

I've got a few around myself. I guess that I could import a few coyotes to take care of them, but I'm more happy that the yotes are gone.
