the crock of turnip kraut,,,it took awhile I think because it is cold in the garage/ basement It never freezes,but does get cold

here it is,I took the loose bag that was covering it off,a plate was on top with a jug of water for weight on top of that.

Im gonna spoon some out,take it upstairs ,and cook it with some apple,carraway seed ,and a piece of pork

let it simmer slow for a while till the pork is tender

and give it a try,,,,,,its really not too bad,,,,cabbage kraut is better,,but this is better than you might expect,,,I would do it again next fall,,so,,,that concludes yet another Turnip trail run,,,,
 
You have the makings of a feast there, Larry. My wife is German and pork roast with sauerkraut was a regular meal in her family. Top the pork with some Sherley's sauce and I'm in heaven.
 
Dad used to talk about turnip kraut, but I never tried it. I still think my cabbage kraut is the best, and must be eaten on New Years Day with pork for good luck.
