xcsp,Although you maybe could get by pulling it ,I would go with somthing a little smaller.A good rule of thumb is 7 HP per foot of width. The TN55 has 50 HP.so a 7-8 footer would be great.I it can be bought right, you could always take some blades off of it and narrow it up.

Your tractor is only 55hp on the engine you only have 43 hp at the
pto. I pulled a 10ft disc with a ford 4000 but it was 52 pto hp and
64 on the engine. Here we go with 6hp per foot of tandem disc as a
rough guideline. But your TN55 is a newer tractor and is very light
weight by comparison to old tractors. I think your tractor is roughly
5000 lbs if that, where my ford was 6750 lbs. and my rear tires
were 38in i think most new holland utility like yours have 28in tires.
I think you should look for 6-8 foot disc. In plowed ground with a
10 foot disc i think you will find it to be way to much. good luck.

You might struggle a little in new plowed ground but in my type of soil in Michigan you would probably be ok with 10 foot. I had a little trouble pulling 8 ft. with a 40 hp. at times. I've bumped up to 52 hp with loaded tires this winter and hope to do allot better pulling my 8 foot disk. I think it was about 2 hp. per blade according to the late Hugh McKay who use to be on here allot. I have found that to be pretty accurate.

I would look for something other than an AC disk though. I had two of them. They had a two piece bearing that was expensive to replace and hard to get. I got rid of the AC disks and have an old I-H disk. Parts are easy to get and reasonably priced.
Just my opinion.

We used to pull a 9 ft. P series Oliver disc with an 88 and a S-88. They were not the heaviest disc in the world. It was a heavy load for the 88. The extra 10 hp. of the S-88 made a noticeable difference. The S-88 weighed in at just under 7,000 lb. as we used it. A ten foot disc, if there is any real weight to it, would be a load for todays lighter tractors.
