injector pump

Hi everyone,
Been a while since I posted and in the meantime thanks to this forum, I have learned a lot. My backhoe has a roosa master pump and displayed classic failure. I removed the pump and replaced the disintegrated retainer ring, cleaned and re-assembled with new O-rings and installed on motor. My problem now is that it will not pump. Fuel gets to the pump, and will run out of the timing cover if I open it, but will just kind of dribble out of the injector ports.I thought that I had re-assemble correctly, but is there something obvious that I did not due that would cause this? Any thoughts would be welcome. Thanks, Gene

How big is that "dribble",..it does not take much fuel to supply an injector,..at idle it is just a drop.

Did you clean all the internal ports when you had it apart????

Also did you get the transfer pump eccentric back in the correct rotation??? The high pressure side will pump Clockwise or Counter clockwise. The little vane transfer pump eccentric has to be put together correctly to pump. This pump pre-charges the high pressure pistons. If it is not pumping the high pressure plungers will not work.

You can check the transfer pump rotation without taking the pump off or clear apart. Just remove the fours screws that hold the back pump housing on and check the direction you have it set to pump in.
