Coming home tonight we saw lights in the sky,by the time we were home we knew it was too slow for a plane and had to be a blimp. The question is, where in the WWW. can you track them to see where they are going? The last one I saw was heading for a football game, at least that was the way it was headed. North Missouri, headed south on a Saturday night.

During WWII we had several blimp bases in S. TX. Land was flat as a pancake and you could see the hangars for miles.

Main task was to, locate, identify, and assist in sinking German U-Boats that worked the Mississippi River outlet, Port Author which had a ship building operation just North in Orange, TX. plus oil refineries, and Houston/Galveston, TX. which today is the US or close, 4th largest port.

Goodyear in Akron Ohio still runs the Blimps. They are very helpful and nice people. My dad was an engineer for the blimp team in the 50's and 60's. For my tenth birthday he arranged a ride for me. What a cool thing that was. As luck would have it, my line of work brought me back to Akron to help with the displays they have on the sides. And stranger still, the chief pilot grew up 1/2 mile away from me in my hometown in PA.
