Progress on the 79 Power Wagon

The coffee table is done so now it's full bore on the Power wagon to get it DONE and OUT. I chose a rubber floor cover instead of vinyl or carpet. The rubber mat and padding came together in a box and the padding covered the whole floor area but the rubber mat only covers the floor from the seat forward. It's heavy rubber and the padding is first quality so I'm pleased with that but now I have to find some rubber mat by the yard to finish up under the seat. The website I got it from has vinyl by the yard but not rubber. Any ideas? Anyway, I'm no professional body man by any stretch of the imagination but this is a working pickup, not show and shine.

While the bed is off I replaced the valve that switches between the two fuel tanks. This thing needs two working fuel tanks, one to get it home from the gas station and the other one to get it back to the gas station. LOL I also fixed the rear tank fuel sender, the brass float had come out of the hook and was floating free. Then I put an electric fuel pump on it to replace the mechanical one and replaced all hoses and steel fuel lines. There will be no more pouring gas down the carb to get it going if it has sat for a while. Oh yes, I put new brakes on the rear; shoes slaves, attaching hardware, drums and parking brake cables, all new. It needs new doors and fenders but that has to wait.

When this is done I can get the 630 Deere TRACTOR together. Then the shop will be empty and I can get busy on the planter. Spring is around the corner, you know.

Mostly finished with new door seals installed. The seat has been re-covered and I can't wait to get it in there but I have to find more rubber mat first. I suppose vinyl could go under the seat if I can't find rubber. The mat has to settle into place and I hope it does. There are a few wrinkles and creases I would like smooth out to make it look better but time will tell.

You did a nice job on the floor boards. My 1991 is getting bad in the floor and rocker panels.

I think lmc carries all that stuff now. Or at least what's available for them.

Nice! We did a "refurb" on one of our firetrucks (1978 C65 Chevy cab). The old truck wasn't in bad shape to start with but the rubber flooring was in pieces. Went to an auto parts store locally and got a cheap rubber bed liner and cut it up for a floor covering in the cab. The floor was almost flat so it wasn't hard to make it fit, it was thin enough that the original rocker plates screwed back on over it, looked almost factory.

Might be a little waste, but that stuff would work well under the seat of your truck.

I don't think most trucks had anything but the pad under seat and only for noise control, the mat never went under the seat.

Leroy that's what I was thinking too and this pickup is in work trim to begin with. I'm embarrassed to admit this but I don't remember if it even had padding under the seat and I bought this pickup new. (Is it called old timers?) LOL Regardless, it will have a covering before the seat goes in. The cab never was all that quiet to begin with. The ceiling is and always was bare steel too.

about the u joints. Sold the truck years
ago and should have sent this with it,
just taking up space here.
