H Rear Tire Question

I had old 14.9/38s on my H back when I had it and they looked goofy but it had lots of traction. Here is a link to an old discussion where I posted some pictures of them. The tires are on my 300 now.

Here's mine running on 13.6 x 38's... REALLY like the look of them on there! Bryce

Do you plan on working that tractor or need a slow speed for a mower, if so do not put them on. A 12.4 is the ideal size. Now if you are going to do nothing but possibly pull a hay rake then go for them as that much oversize in low you will be traviling about as fast as in second with the correct size. Me if I was looking to buy a tractor and got there to look at it and it had them on I would turn and walk away. If I have a tractor I want to be able to use it as it was made for.

They should work just fine! I believe you will find that it rides a lot smother over rough ground and it will have better traction.

Yaa.... I got it up to 60 MPH, and the hood just flew off! Pert near hit me right in the ol noggin!! :p

Actually, as you can see, a chain is attached to the front, we were dragging it up and down the drive way trying to get it to start, and mom just HAD to get a picture of it.... :)

Still having little issues here and there with it, but I should get a few more of those sorted out today...

I really like the 13.6's on there! I have 11.2's on my SC, and it will dig those in pretty quickly, am looking for a nice set of 12.4's for it, I think that they would be a good match. 13.6's for H's and 14.9's for M's! OH YA! :)

I have 12.4 on mine, gonna replace them with 13.6, if you do not use it for heavy pulling it will be fine and have higher road speed.

I had 13'6's on my Super M, exchanged them out for 14.9's and put 'em on my '45 H after I o'hauled it...Both tractors were a lot better....SM had more pull power, H had more speed in all gears, especially 4th, really nice for mowing and raking hay and wagon pulling. Put 3 sets of weights on it and it was a decent loader tractor with the No. 30 IH loader on it too...with 6 ply 600-16's on the front.
