got a plastic tool box full of tools that I carry durning planting&harvest the tools got wet and are rusting so I am cleaning them up with coke works real good some are soaking in coke. ratchet wasn't working soaked in coke all nite, dried it out and oiled it up -good as new.....anybody else using coke?
 
yes, I have used Coke for rusted bolts, tools and other rusted items for years. Once I take the item out of the Coke, I spray the tool with Dry Moly Lube from Seymour, tool never rusts again.
 
Back in the day that most trucks didn't have vindsheild washers and they got splattered vith bugs, I wood git a bottle of coke cola and shake it up and spray on vinsheild, it would cut the grease from bugs and one could have a clean vinder to look oot ove.
 
It's the Phosphoric Acid in the Coke. Just about any mild Acid will do the same thing - Vinegar: Acetic Acid, Orange Juice: Citric Acid, etc. .
