Good morning from NC

We don't get a lot of snow. Ice and freezing rain is our major winter threats. But we did get some last night. It was 45 yesterday and only down to 31 overnight so as expected some surfaces accumulated far more than others. My paved driveway has less than 1/2 inch where a beech tree covers it and it got good sun yesterday. It has 4 inches in a few places. But on top my old gas pump I had 5.5 inches. It's wet and heavy.

a new snow, it's pure & white, these imagines
are planted in our minds forever...

But northern Pa here where I am the smell of
fresh cut green grass would be soothing to my
soul.

We've got about 11 inches of snow here in north Alabama. Lost power for a little while last night.
Had the kerosene heater on standby for backup heat.

Where are you? Son in Troutman says about 4". This is his second snow of the season. He said a week ago his pipes froze, but he didn't elaborate. I don't know if it was in the crawl space under the house, or the water heater in the garage.

Hope that didn't cause too many power outages. We got another 5 1/2 to 6 inches here on top of whatever was left from Tue. Looks like it will turn to slush if I can get it beat down a little.
