Good warning..I was pushing brush with an AC H5 one time when a limb got caught under the loader arm. As I moved forward the limb came out. When I saw it headed for my head I quickly raised my hand to block it. Broke my forearm in 2 places and hurt like heck.

I was pushing brush with my little JD dozer one day. I started to back away from the piled brush and I turned my head to see where I was going when a piece of brush which had been caught in the tracks came around and wacked me in the head.

My brain has not been right form that day on. One can never be to careful. I hope your eye heals quickly and correctly.

It's good the branch didn't hit you any lower. We don't grow an eye back if we lose it. We who are out and about have a lot of stories about gashes and cuts and bruises and broken bones and we kind of take it in stride. A few little cuts and abrasions on our hands are just normal decorations for us. I have a cut on the back of my hand that I don't think is too awful bad but two women who have seen it freaked out and thought I should have stitches. One of them showed me a little paper cut on her finger and acted like it was a big deal. I've added a couple more cuts to the back of that hand since then and I don't even know where they came from.

I used to operate a HD-5 in my younger years. They were pretty obsolete by that time though.

Pushing trees into a pile can be very dangerous. There was/is a guy around here that was piling trees and brush with a dozer and got wiped right off the machine by a large limb that came loose from the pile. I won't even walk next to a pile of pushed up trees. You never know when a limb under pressure will come loose.

Glad it wasn't worse. That could have been real bad. We need to protect our eyes. I know I don't like I should. Like someone else here said, we don't grow eyes back. A rock flew out of my mower and hit my front tire, and flew back into my eye. I have a scar on my eyeball for the rest of my life. Stan

You can't trust brush . I was driving a skidder around a mud hole and oushed on a dead spruce thinking it would push over -- wrong --the top broke off and came down on my cab with a huge bang -without the cab it would have killed me .
