MFWD compact tractor tires

Hi all have a Deere 955 compact utility tractor that is mfwd and need new tires and have some questions. Background info then I will get to the actual question. It has a loader and currently has turf tires from new as we used to mow with it but have since removed the belly mower and mow with another mower. It no longer is a "lawn tractor" so no worries about damaging sod. Main uses are shoving wagons, grain head, equipment etc into the barns into tight places(small tractor with hydrostat trans is perfect for this) and maintaining driveway stone with bucket and box blade. The rear tires have great tread and are not damaged, the fronts are worn, not smooth but very little help with traction. My actual question is can I put R4 tires on just the front axle? I have had people tell me both yes and no and am looking for advice. I am replacing the fronts due to necessity (worn out) not to necessarily gain traction, but figured if Im replacing might as well get R4. So is there anything to be concerned about driveline wise etc with tread types? Also I have a backhoe and a bulldozer so its not like I'm trying to use it where a bigger unit should be used. Thanks Matt

can you find the same size tires as the turf you are taking off? The new must be the same OD as the old, you might have to get different rims. there should be no problems switching to ag tires. I switched lots of them in years past.

Easy to switch all 4 with new rims and tires.

Tough to impossible to properly switch 2 only.
