Anybody built a T98 transmission

I just got done pulling a T98 transmission out of a machine and began tearing it down. The manual says to pull/drive out the lower shaft using a 'special tool', but gives no specifications, part number, or anything else for the tool. Based on what I have read, and can see in the pics, it looks to me like it's nothing but a second shaft, probably just slightly smaller in diameter than the original shaft, that's needed to keep the bearings from falling out.

I've spent the last 45 minutes looking online trying to find something, but so far have come up empty, beyond what I already know....you need a 'special tool". So, has anyone had any direct experience rebuilding one of these? I've also found that the T18, and T19, are both similar in design so any experience with either of these, if not the T98, would be helpful as well?

Thanks for any help ya'll can give.

Years ago I half rebuilt one. The special tool is just a shaft that is shorter by the thickness of the case on each end. You insert it and then you can lift the lower gear shaft out of the case intact. I found this out from a transmission guy after I pulled out the shaft and dropped a gazillion needles of various sizes into the trans. I think the case is still in the weeds behind my buddies barn. A dowel/broomstick of the right diameter would do the trick. Nothing special about it, just don't lose the rollers. if you buy a small parts kit it will come with replacement rollers.

When I was a teenager, I had to replace a cluster gear in an old ford that I stripped out. I was trying to find a tool to use for that. A friend told me to use a piece of milk hose from the barn. It worked good. Tommy

I have a BW gear catalog if you need part #s.
Should have 88 rollers on counter shaft.
Your dummy shaft for perfect fit would be
1.1365 inch.
