7F this morning and still going down. Windchill -5 to-15 in this area. Got snow on the ground from 2 days ago. Trees down from winds before the snow came. AND going down tonight and tomorrow morning to 0 or below. And then snow maybe sleet and freezing rain on Saturday night in to Sunday.

I know this sounds normal to many on the site. But this is south side central Va. Just a few miles north of the NC line. We're suppose to be planting taters in the garden soon. I put out an alert to put the taters back in the back and cover them with quilts. LOL

All you southern folks are you with me. I say Attack. LOL LOL Just ain't no sense in this. LOL

-15 here in s.e. minnesota up on the hill have to go down to dads to feed the cattle could be 5 to 10 degrees colder in the valley

It was supposed to get down to -10 last night but those darned weather guessers missed it again. It's only -8 this morning here in S.E. Ohio. Boy, they just can't get it right LOL. Keep warm, Keith

- 15 F here in northern Michigan. The real temp, not that make-believe wind-chill factor. Was - 22 F a few days ago.

Wow, it's cold in the winter. What a concept!

Seriously, I am more sick of hearing people whine about the cold than I could ever be about the cold itself. It's cold. Get over it.

March is 10 days away. It's not dark until after 6PM. We're over the hump. If you really can't hold out that long, I don't know what to tell you.

-21 here in Central Michigan this morning. Who left the door open? Betcha I get to chop the ice in the waterers outside, whatcha think?

al gore is working on this as we speak, he says a solution should be found no later then may of this year......

A few years ago this New Hampshireite was in VA approaching my exit near Richmond. There had been snow and I had a hunch that there could be ice on the ramp. I slowed way down and I am sure irritated a number of drivers behind me. I expect that most of them though, were able to see the tracks of many preceding cars that had gone off and over the curb and into the grad rail. And maybe some were glad that I had slowed them down.

Forecasters saying no letup for the next couple weeks. Don't think I'll be having trouble with tractor overheating while plowing like I did on March 19TH like I did a couple years back.

It's winter and it's cold.

Next summer it will be hot.

Funny how that works.

Your SUV doesn't have anything to do with it. Nor does your local coal burning generating plant.

Hey bud, you will never make it. It's -25F this morning with a -43 windchill. I'm busy inventing excuses to keep from going outside. If you do get here (Northeastern Ontario) after you warm up here, I'm going back south with you.

Hey don't blame Canada , Al Roker reported today " this is comming from Siberia." Blame Russia ,puttton did it.

-27 in east central MN this morning. Can't say I enjoy it. Cows were white frost balls at 6 am.

We are having good weather here, cold nights but warm up in med day. 28 deg this morning, in the med 50 s today, here in E Texas.
I think about people up north that is so cold.
Keep warm.

Only made it to -19 about an hour ago, way up to -17 now. But I am on hill, 30' or so above the lake level. On I-35 60 mi north of MSP.

Yes Just HOLDON a Little while longer ,just have a hard time lovin wintertime ,. I got a sunburn on March 10 putting on a roof in southern ind about 30 yrs ago ... winter here has beenrelatively tame , compared to recent past ,,. this latest hurrah is typical of the weather we had the previous winters ..

ckain: what city you near south west of Battle Creek? Scotts? I live in Mendon and work in Coldwater. Do you go to Scotts show?

"I am more sick of hearing people whine about the
cold than I could ever be about the cold itself."

Just block them out. Hope you feel better. Soon.

I did put several LOL's in the post. Just joking
around some. Have a great day.

Here in southwest Va (25 miles west of Martinsville Va) it's -1 sunny, no wind, 5" leftover snow on the ground. Wood is in the stove, dog is in, birds are at the feeders and forecast high is 14. It's winter and all is well. The good news is that GOD is still in control.Spring is coming. Enjoy a time of rest while you wait.

We've had a great winter here this year. Really just started being real winter the last few weeks.

Not unusual for us to be late in this area. Had some of our deepest snows in March over the years.Every so often we get a noreaster and break some records. Early 60's we had one that dropped 42 inches of snow. Then wind got up and had 10 ft. drifts. On day 7 highway dept. brought in D9 dozers to open the roads. They had nothing to move a snow like that.

That would have been 1960. That storm ran amuck over the upper half of the U.S./ I was only two years old then, but Dad talked about that winter for years. He had moved to another farm March 1st of that year and said it was -30 that morning. Nice sunny day with no wind, but very cold.

About the same here in central Tennessee. Breaking records of low temp. Little sun this morning with 8 inches of snow on the ground. Suppose to get it all tomorrow, sleet, ice, freezing rain and snow. Like they say spring is around the corner but this stuff we are not use to.

I am about 50 miles north west of you. North of Mora mn about 35 miles. Or using I35 as a reference, west of Willow River about 30 miles.

Bring it on!
Just make sure you bring your flame throwers and any other gadget you have that makes lots of heat, we would like to see some snow melt up here as well.

I'm laughing about this. Normal winter by now we have seen at least 2 or 3 shots of -20 and colder lasting 1-2 weeks at a time. WE have only been at -20 or colder a couple of time generally for no more than a day or 2. This is great!

Was -28 at 5AM here without wind chill.

Rick

I love the cold weather in winter. That's NORMAL. Just like when it gets HOT in summer. -2 this AM near Detroit.

However, it is getting to some people around here. Tempers are short and I am getting tired hearing guys in our shop complain about every little thing. The latest rant is the parking behind the building. A neighbor tenant complained about a couple of our guys blocking their doors. (This puts our guys within about 30 ft of our back door). I told them "DON'T PARK THERE". Their response was that the snow plow guys piled up snow in other nearby spots. They wanted the landlord to MOVE THE SNOW. I went outside and pointed out that there was a whole row of spots about 50' ft further away. You'd have thought I asked a guy for a kidney!

Don't blame it on Canada. All this cold air is coming from Siberia, so blame the Russians. They have a motive anyway, they hate us. So this year Putin is having his revenge, sending his Siberian air masses to freeze us out.

Don't know why you blame Canada for the cold weather??
I' m just south of the Yukon and NWT and the winter has been rather mild and little snow.
Right now it is just below freezing and a wee bit snow coming down.
I plowed snow only twice this winter

Caution or we will counter attack with our Sea King Helicopters. The Sea Kings are so old and unreliable the enemy is too busy dodging parts and components as they fall off the airframe to defend themselves.

We're already in AZ; been here for 30 years now. Haven't shovelled any snow nor mowed any grass in the last 30 years. Don't miss that at all!

The cold air that is just moving out of Minnesota came from Siberia.

FYI, would you please find a way to stop sending your hot steamy air up North here in the summers? We would gladly use the same technology to keep the cold air up here in winter, LOL.

Let's build a wall to keep the cold Canada air out. Wait.....we haven't built the wall on our southern border yet.

this is Va. man this is not suppose to happen . what did they do with climate warming ? is this some kind of Al Gore trick , he's from another planet anyhow .
I thought it was on it's way back to the 12 and 13th century when they grew grain in Greenland that's the kind of climate warming I want .

I hear you.

I spent a week in Boston some years back on company training. It got up to 92 there and I thought some of those folks weren't going to make it. That was nice weather for me. Where I live in July and August it's the 98-98 thing. 98 deg. and 98% humidity.

We can't attack till summer. To cold up there to
fight right now. It'll take us months of planning.

We like to send a little cold down south so you folks can save $$$$ on air conditioners L.O.L. YAP! blame Russia this time --I once saw a documentry about the coldest place in the world to live and it's Siberia . They traveled in Unimogs 4x4 and never shut them off only to change oil . I'm at -24 tonight but the windchill today was - 35 .

Larry -- ontario

I can appreciate that. A 90F day with a 65F dew point will make people and livestock really suffer here. That doesn't happen every year, but we do get -20F with thirty MPH winds every year. We still complain about both though, LOL.
