Ferguson Plow Value?

Guy wants to trade me this for an 12.4 x 28 tire on a 6 loop rim loaded with calcium. I am asking $200 for it, and don't think that I will take less...

He says it is a :14R-AO-28 # 176302

Looks to be complete, but I would really like to know why it has been taken apart?

Has the tail wheel, and coulter brackets, but no coulters...

I have a nice set of Ferguson Coulters on a 2 x 16 plow, and I restored the plow thinking that I would pull it with my TO-30, and while I think that it would have plenty of power, I suspect that it would be lacking the weight in the rear end, because it is JUST the tires, no fluid... What do you guys think?

He says that he also has a corn planter, corn husker, and a grain grinder for sale/trade.

I am thinking that those other things might be worth more than the plow, but I haven't seen pictures of them yet... Bryce

That plow, if it is complete and not overly worn out, is worth at least $200 around here in Ohio.

I can tell you for sure that you won't pull 2 16's without fluid in the tires or wheel weights. I have to have fluid in the rears of my TO-20 to pull a 2 14" Massey #62 plow. Then I had to add fluid to the front tires. Because I once I got the traction I couldn't keep the front wheels on the ground.

Bryce, I pull 2 12s with my 52 8N. It does a good job, but would be perfect with a little more weight.
I don't want to add weight. I took my coulters off as they tended to push trash and the plow does fine without them. All depends on the soil and conditions. A tail wheel set just right is very helpful.

He e-mailed me back and said that he thinks it is worth $450, and that I should give him some cash! HA!

Not happening, sorry! I already have a 2 x 14 Ferguson plow, I just need the tail wheel for it, and it will be complete, and if I really wanted to, I could take the tail wheel off of the 2 x 16 and put it on the 2 x 14!

2 14s should be good on your tractor. The guy is way over priced on a taken apart plow. If the tail wheel off your 2 16s will work, you are in business.

That plow in pieces would be worth $80-100 here. if it was together without coulters $200 with coulters $250-275

No way is it worth $450
