Guys, Seeing the Warmer Weather Pic below, With Clear Sky's & 63* Here made me get in the notion So ..... Today We Mowed the Winter Grass and Hen-Bit Weeds in the Yard! Some places we needed a Swather! I know this will make some of you jealous but Spring like weather will come soon! Y'all just hang on a little while longer!

Thanks John, that's just what I want to here when its 15 degrees and wind blowing from the North and the weather guessers are predicting the biggest snow of the year coming this weekend. You have all but made my day!

Temps in the single digits plus and minus, chill factors in the double digits below, some record setting. Snow and drifting especially nearer the big lake. Forecasters say no reprieve in the forseeable future. Don't think I'm going to be plowing for oats on March 19th, and having them planted by the end of the month like I did a few years back. Spring's no where near.

Got to 0 today, for the high. Only 6 inches of snow here in E ND though. Spring could be here in 2 weeks or 2 months, no way to tell.

Hey Ray P, could you send me an email? I have some questions about growing oats here in MI, and I don't want to hijack this discussion. Thank You
Ross

I just came in from feeding horses in three different places in snow whiteout conditions. Thought I was going to get blown over walker and all. It doesn't look like it will be must better in the morning.

Possible breaking all time temperature record on Thursday with +5 high temp expected in Indiana. Wind chill advisory posted with -25 dangerous wind chills expected early Thursday morning. Also possible low temp record -8 will be matched. 4 inch snow cover. No it's not spring here. Running about 30 degrees below normal for this date on the calendar.

Saturday at 4pm it was 65 degrees, by 8pm Sunday we had 2" of sleet. They are predicting zero or just below tonight. As bad as that sounds, if it wasn't for the ice, I would rather have that as the 100 degree heat and high humidity that we have in the summer. At least I can breath the cold air.

Last week on the Rockford Ill. tv news they said 2 coyotes killed one of those little hobby horses like you have, also a woman turned her pitbull out in her yard for a while and a coyote tore it up until she chased it off.

We had a group of hunters work this area to remove the coyotes a coupla years back. I saw one small one after a rabbit last summer. I know it can happen. We have plenty of woodchucks that they will hopefully keep the coyotes fed. I have not seen any tracks in the snow this year as I did a few years back.

John,

Its 5 here right now and they're saying maybe -10 by morning. Don't get me wrong John, but I hope that you get such a sun burn that you have to spend the day wiping cold butter on yourself. Don't take it personal John.

Colder than a witch's broom here. Lake Erie is 100% frozen. Only the 4th or 5th time in recorded history.

Last weekend, my girlfriend said she saw an ant in my kitchen. It will be -17 tonight.

Not near done in South Central Ohio... was -16 at our place a couple of days ago, "only" -4 today. Cold spell is expected to be with us for at least another week and a half or so. Might get up to mid 30s this Saturday. Llamas are eating a lot of hay!

Sadly this is true.. at least around here.

When you see the snow plows and salt trucks emerge from their hibernation you know spring is coming.
