Will It Work? Farmall C + Case VAC

Alright, here is the crazy thought of the day, stay with me if you can! :

The Case VAC has the tires/tubes I want on it for the hay rake.

My parts Farmall C has the 3 rib tires and tubes on it that I want for the Case.

BOTH tractors have 4x15 RIMS, BOTH sets of rims have 3 "ears" on them that then bolt to a cast iron center.

Would Farmall Rims bolt onto a Case Center? Would save me from having to take both 3 rib's off of the Farmall rims, and then mount them back onto the Case Rims...

Will go measure here in a bit, but thought that it was a good idear? :)

Only thing you have to lose is the time spent trying to bolt the IH rims up to your Case.

Can't lose much by trying.

I would think they would since 3 tabs have to be 1/3 of the way around so you would think they would work but again as said you have nothing to loose by trying

Well, they kind of did!

I took a Farmall Wheel and tried to bolt it to the Case, however there were a few little issues:

1, the 3 bolts were 2 sizes larger in the Farmall wheel, than the Case ones, which cause the wheel to be sloppy on the Case Cast Center.

2, the 3 "ears" were shaped VERY slightly differently, and it was kind of weird trying to get it to tighten down...

So, to sum up, it is alright for Farm Use, but for a restoration, I don't think so...

On the plus side! My rake is back on the road and fully operational! YAY! :)

Will throw some pictures up later... Bryce

If the rims are the same size, does anything prevent you from dismounting the tires and remounting the best pair on the desired rims?

you like to trade. why not trade up an old manual tire changer and a old air compressor and the do your own tires anybway u want just a thought

No, just time. I was just curious to see if they were indeed the exact same rim, because if they were, then it would have been a huge waste to take them off, just to put them back on! :)

We have a massive air compressor, must be 100 gallon or more! I also have a new toy, it breaks the beads on the tires, it works well, and I have a selection of home made pry bars and spoons, and a few BIG screw drivers, and between all of that, I can take a tire off, or put one on in about 10 or 15 min, provided that all goes somewhat smoothly...

Took me an hour to take 4 tires off and put 2 on today, thought that was pretty good! :)

I have a Case VAC rim on my Farmall C. It has been on there a long time. I think I had to do something special to get them to work. I may have had to flip the clamps around the wrong way or use the VAC clamps to get them to work.
