coil resistor for 12 volts 1951 8n side mount distributor

Hi, what kind of coil resistor or ballast resistor,
should I use for the 12 volt system 1951 8n side
mount distributor? thanks.

No one can answer that question without knowing what coil you intend to use... the OEM 6 Volt coil, a 12 Volt coil that requires an external resistor, or a "true" 12 Volt coil that has been constructed with enough "turns" in it's primary winding that no external resistor is required.

The simplest solution is to use a "true" 12 Volt coil, such as a NAPA # IC14SB, and NO resistor.
