1985 case 2096 3 point hitch wont go up or down

I bought this tractor a few weeks ago everything works except the three point hitch wont go up or down. ck the fluid level and the cables all are working ok. Anybody know of this problem really need to get my stock yard scraped clean soon. I dont really want to take it into a shop .

Have you checked where the cables go into the box underneath as that is where the valve and several linkages are. If all that moves I would guess that one of the linkages let go inside the rear end. Don't remember if you can see inside through filler hole or not but have had to take the rear off similar model to repair broken parts for hitch. Probably could ask on Case site for better answer.

Are you sure the cables are ok. The two cables related to the three point have a bit of a tendancy to break. Those go to arms on the lower right side of the transmision. The lever will move like normal but nothing will happen. You can get by without the draft lever but of course the depth control is needed. On a 2290 both cables are the same part number.

Load/draft sensing lever fully forward? Hitch spool (under front hitch valve spool cover) move with control lever? Bad or missing sensor check ball in remote valve stack will cause hitch to not work.
