They are made in INDIA

The JD 5055E has the same engine as my JD 5210. I have been amazed at what I can do with this "small" tractor. It gets used just about everyday. They are easy to get on and off of. That is more important every year to me.

The JD 5055E tractors are made in India. They have proven to be pretty dependable tractors.

IF you not needing a cab than look at a JD 5210 or JD 5220 2wd. They can be bought for under $10K with under 2500 hours. To me that is a better "deal" for the same type of tractor. Plus the JD 5210 was US built in Augusta, Georgia.

This the 5055E sold in Britain, 2wd or 4wd. In this area its mainly livestock farming so these are sold for scraping cow manure off yards at dairy farms

The used tractors you speak of would be good to find if I could around here. I am finding these small utility tractors have been "beat up" by the help on these farms, have a lot of hours on them, and are being sold for more money than they cost new at the time.

According to Tractor data, for the 2013 and 2014 models of the
5055e, they are made in Augusta GA.

My 2014 5055d is definitely made in India.

IMHO, the 3 cylinder 3029 engine is the #1 reason to buy one
of these tractors.

I kinda like mine so far...

Thanks,
Bill

I would only add that the 2015 models are up on the Deere website and the tractors now have pollution suff on them, like a diesel particulate filter. I have to believe they will be higher priced too.

Good luck,
Bill

Yours with those flat top fenders are nicer looking that the full width round tops fitted for Britain.

You know, I thought the opposite when I bought the tractor.
Having grown up around clam shell fender tractors, I thought
they were the ticket. What I'm finding is the flat top fenders
are mighty handy for setting stuff on when tooling around the
tractor. On the LH side is a tool box and on the RH side is a
plastic tube used to hold the owners manual - which is in my
house away from any rain, etc. I think I'm going to take it off
and put a nice basket in it's place, to hold gloves, etc and also
mount a cup holder.

Thanks,
Bill

Not bad........I know that $30k is a lot of money but a New Holland workmaster 40 with 4wd, 2.0 Liter engine is $22k without a loader.
Those new machines are nice, but when I look at the price my wallet shrivels up and says....HUH?

Back in October, the same dealership offered me a brand new 2014 5055D like yours for $14,300, with oversized tires and a rear remote, delivered. With the incentives gone, that same tractor, new 2014, is now $15,900.

Exactly! More of a want, than a need....
After looking at some used prices on tractors, it made me think about new, but only for a while.
