O.T. Ford focus wagon rear wiper

The rear wiper cycles intermittently. I messed with the switch and don't seem to be able to get it to stop. Any ideas? I just got the car and am not real familiar with it. I don't have the manual with me at this time.
Thanks, Roy

is the wiper returning to the "park " position? if not , there is a switch on the wiper motor that stops it. also, check the wiring harness where it comes out of the rear hatch and enters the body. there is a rubber boot there. pull the boot back and check for chaffed wires.

My Explorer has both intermitant and constant wipe. Depends where the switch is turned. Your switch good? They are correct about the park position also. You could also have a bad ground at the wipe motor. Have also seen bad plugs in the wire harness. I had that with the headlight switch plug. Went to the junk yard and cut a plug out of a low mileage truck. Spliced it in and now no troubles.

The switch has 2 knobs on it. the outer one is the front wipers, and the ring closer to the steering shaft is the rear wiper. Turn all the way toward rear is quick cycle. Next click forward is slow cycle, then off, finally all the way forward is wash. You can download an owners manual at Ford.com

Sorry I bothered all of you. I figured out tonite that it was an operator issue! It shut off when I moved the switch to the correct position.
Thanks, for caring about dumb ol me!
