Volkers John Deere dealership

To the guys in central mich. When did Volkers John
Deere dealer sell out to Bader and Son? I went and
looked at a different tractor today and I was told
it was under new ownership. Anyone have any dealing
with Bader and Son dealership on the east side of
the state?

Salesman told me three weeks ago febuary 2nd they would be opening as Bader & Sons. I guess its just Deere consiladating dealers, according to him staff is not changing, at least for now. Was saying parts and service should get better. Baders is good just not the family run type of store Voelkers was. We'll see what happens...John

I knew full well Volker must have a giant bulls eye on his back with only two dealerships. I would have bet my eye teeth GreenMark would have gotten them though, being toward the west side of the state.
There goes the neighborhood.

Been dealing with Voelkers for years. Great guys, sorry to see the sale, but also deal with Bader's. Also a great organization. Doesn't surprise me Voelkers sold. Seems like Deere dealers are all becoming multi store dealerships. Just have to see how the transition goes.

I thought Greenmark would have bought them too. I know the big guy's up by Lake City use Greenmark instead of Voelkers because of service on the equipment wasn't the best.

I don't do A LOT of business with Bader and Son, but I do end up there at least 3-4 times a growing season (I run a 9430 JD at work, and my only piece of green equipment is my baler) and they treat me fair when I'm in there.. I frequent the store in Tecumseh, as it's nearest to my home.

Grandpa and Uncle farm a few acres yet, and have mostly newer Deere machinery, and they get a fair share of parts there also, but Uncle buys machinery elsewhere, as he claims "they won't deal".

I've dealt with Baders in St.Louis and Portland both are fine. I like them better than D&G they seem to act like it is a favor to walk in their door. Like going to Alderman's in Lennon. Yup they are the Fiat dealer now.

Same thing with many John Deere dealerships in west Michigan and northern Indiana. Combined under a new name and a consolidated location.

Kind of funny. I get the exact opposite results and baders parts prices were significantly higher than dg or greenmark last spring. I know of a few people that caught it. May have adjusted prices by now.

Mother Deere must have dropped it on them pretty quick. Their ad is in the February Farm Trader as Voelker Implement. No mention of them changing hands. There's an announcement of John Deere Day at the Lake City store on February 21st. The website is still up with an announcement that they're Baders now.

I remember dealing with the them when I was a little kid going there with my grandpa and there service was great. Since John passed the service seemed to go down hill. Maybe it will get better but we will see. We have dealt with burnips more lately than voelkers
