Loading Out Hay Today The American Way

Loaded a trailer of round bales of hay today with my All-American John Deere (made in India), wearing my All-American Timberland boots (made in Bangladesh). Well the hay was America made by me in Pennsylvania. Truck was probably assembled in ???. My shirt-coat who knows. The way it is!

Know what you mean, the boots I have worn for almost 50 yrs. Are made in China. (Farm and Ranch) The JD I loaded hay with day before yesterday Trans and Diff are made in Japan. Engine is made here. But probably from parts made from all over the world. Don't think I have any clothes I wear for everyday made in USA! But I do have a story about where stuff is made. I borrowed my Neighbors Excavator (track hoe) It was never ment to be sold in the USA. Water Pump started leakinng and fan was loose. Track hoe is the same as a John Deere. But has a Mitsubishi engine. But water pump is different than a Mitsubishi sold here. Finally found pump was made in Memphis Tn. But called them to learn they made those pumps for export and they couldn't sell them for use here (USA) Finally decided to take the waterpump apart. Inside believe it or not the bearings 2. were inches. Believe it or not our auto parts store had the sealed bearings in stock. Bet those Japanese have a hard time finding bearings for that pump.

A person can't complain about both the high prices of USA-Made items, and everything at Walmart being Chinese, and all the tractor parts being foreign, and loss of jobs to foreign countries. Buying those very items, we do it ourselves to ourselves. Read Alan Greenspan, it's called globalization.

I don't like to see our jobs going over seas and the cheap products we buy from ove there. But I see guys complaining on here about it all the time. I don't hear anyone complaining because their corn, beans, beef, wheat or pork is being shipped around the world. Just stop and think what would happen if the other countries would stop buying our products. Where would the prices go-TO THE BASEMENT. In a perfect world we would buy only stuff made here and sell only to the folks here, but it aint gonna happen, get over it. Sorry for the rant, Keith
