New Holland TC45 Motor needed

I am looking for a new, rebuilt, or salvage motor (able to be rebuilt) for a NH TC45. My block cracked and my dealer is telling me a new long block is $9200. Does anyone know of another motor that may fit? Does Case use the same motor? I can almost buy another tractor (2002) for the price of this motor. Thanks

Is it the Shibaura motor? 4 cylinder? pretty common engine, crossbred with perkins about 10-12 years ago, should be able to get a complete engine for way less than the block quote of $9200.00, that price means your dealer does not want to fool with it. Have you taken the block to machine shop that is not affiliated with the dealer and asked what they would charge to repair the block? I bet it will be a lot cheaper than you think if it is not totally wasted, talking in the hundreds, not thousands, and those little engines will run a long time patched up.

Freeze crack or just plain broke in half ?

The block froze and cracked to the piston wall and cracked the exterior. She will still run but blows water and oil out the crack. I've asked around and everyone tells me if oil is blowing out the motor can't be fixed. It is a Shibaura N844L-45-2600. I've seen the one on Ebay..but it is blue so the mechanics I've talked to said it probably wouldn't work. The shibaura motors are grey and apparently the hydraulics, and some of the others won't be the same if the motor came out of a skid steer.

I have a used engine out of a TC40. Test ran well. I think mine doesn't have a turbo. Email is open...
