Here (Rochester, NY) officials couldn't even FIND the woodchuck's burrow on account of a foot of fresh snow overnight.

A substitute 'chuck was located and the "event" moved indoors (bunch 'o wimps!)

Haven't heard whether the ringer saw his shadow - from overhead lighting of course....

Observe the day by having pork sausage for breakfast-it is 'Ground Hog' day? RN

B-D,
I am not sure we can depend on the accuracy of that report.
Several years ago my daughters came home from elementary
school and asked me if I knew if the woodchuck saw his
shadow today and I said that there were two of them and one
did and the other didn't. They said Dad, you should have been
a politician instead of a farmer.

Kinda got yer choice around here. They say ol'
Punksatawny Phill saw his shadow- but with all the
lights, he probly would. The next one was in New
Yak, and he didn't see his.

So, you got your choice. It's six more weeks of
winter, or just six weeks until spring.......

Bacon run through a meat grinder would count- remember it is supposed to be 'Ground' hog. RN

hmmm Had not about the "ground" connection! Does chopped bacon count because that goes good in potato salid?
