Its awful nice to have them days behind me. The only thing I HAVE to do every morning is walk out to the barn, check on my bulk feeder and the water for the cattle. Then make sure they are ok and throw a little feed to the barn cats.

Retirement great, just playing part time farmer and doing whatever I want to do everyday. After 40 some years of 60 hour weeks I feel I deserve it.

I'm glad I saved for retirement along the way. Even though it seemed like it was a long way away at times when I was younger.

Reminded me of what I told my doctor a few years ago.
I said "I have a terrible problem. When I wake up, I am hungry, and when I eat, I get sleepy".

Retirement is great, been 5 years now. At first it wasn't easy--had to keep busy or I felt like I was neglecting something. With 13 tractors and 2 outside wood boilers there is always something to do. Spring is large garden and too much lawn along with splitting wood and some fishing when I can. Life is good!!

Yes, we all joke about it, but having work to perform and a paycheck to collect is what keeps the joy in our day to day lives. Even so, I complain about it daily! Jon, I want you to know how much I appreciate "Today's Funny". After breakfast I pour the first cup from the first pot of tea for the day and click on here and it is the first thing I look for. A lot of effort on your part. Definitely appreciated on this end!

Yup, I still remember those days. Actually, I enjoyed my job and didn't dread it most of the time. It was when, due to my own fault, I didn't get enough sleep, that I hated to go in.
