That's cheap. I got two Siberian Forest cats that were worth fifteen hundred apiece as kittens, no joke.

Talked with my youngest daughter last Saturday.

Said that she had been taking care of her mother's cat for several weeks.

Told me that her mother paid $1,000.00 for the cat.

Said that her mother got tired of it and gave it away.

Wow! I have $6900 worth of cats on the farm.

DO you fellows realize some dumby dropped 600 dollars worth of cats on me last week

8 month old kitten, does not seem to be moving at that price.

Let's see here 300 bucks for a cat wright , Nah . i am NOT a cat person . BUT one evening while walking my DOG , dog stops dead in his tracks tail goes up ears standing up and he is looking then i see this Orange Cat walking along side of us . I can see that this is not going to go well for me trying to hold back a 126 Lb Husky as he has the advantage as he has four wheel drive and Claws a traction , so i tell dog NO CATS and i get this look of AH comeon again i say NO CATS. and the tail drops ears go down and it back to walking . Stupid cat is still walking along side . we do the mile walk and cat stays with us . we get back to the house and i put the dog in the house and turn to take the trash can down and the cat is at the back door wanting in. I'll fix this once and for all i'll let the dog stick his nose out and let them go nose to nose and that stupid cat will be GONE . Yea wright , dog and cat go nose to nose and the cats tail is going 90 MPH and i look in and the dogs tail is going 90 MPH . Open door a little more and cat shoots in and cat is rubbing up against dog dog licking cat dog lays down and cat lays down with dog in Kitchen . Yell at War Dept to come out to the kitchen to see this . She can not believe her eyes Ok cat can stay . So we now have one dog and one cat ok this is sorta cool . we go away one day for a wedding out of town and CAT has a tiny kitten setting with HIM in the garage when we get home so now we have another FREE LOADER living here . And i did NOT pay for the dog and did not pay for the cats. They cost enough in food a vet care since the Vet that we did have on the barter payment sold his practice . Had a good deal going there he fixed my dogs and i fixed his tractor . He paid for the parts and i paid for the meds at cost same as i sold him parts for at my cost . We swapped labor .

Ya, but a good cat is worth more than a wife, they don't complain, no getting mad at you, they are not wanting you to fix this and that around the house all the time, no spending money on clothes and other non essentials, plus a lot more, thus leaving you with more free time and money to spend on beer and pretzels and football. That is why I have a cat and no wife.

Certainly would not pay that for a cat, or dog.

I've told this story on the other site, I did have a $400 barn tom
cat..... He was a year old, beautiful turtle shell pattern, big fella
already, and came home dragging his tail by a cord. We had
been short of cats, he was such a nice, out of the way,
mousing Tom cat..... Took him to the vet, by the time they were
done his shots and overnight stay and antibiotics came to
$400.

Sheez, I'm a barn cat guy, toss them a little feed and we all
make the best of,it, that was a lot of money to waste on a cat.

Well, he set up his hunting route along the far water ditch
bank, and he favored ground squirrels (MN state rodent, the
13 striped gopher).

Every year I planted corn along that ditch, I'd lose the outer 3-
5 rows to those dang squirrels, and then bad weeds would
come up. Just a mes, good 1/2 acre messed up year after
year.

Well dang if he didnt clean out those gophers, and I had 10 +
years of good corn there. He paid me back more than the
$400 he cost me!

Thanks for posting- I had never seen a $300 cat before. Come to think of it, I probably still haven't.

The road has cost me $1500 in tabbies alone last year. Wonder what calicos go for as lost a few of them too.

I think the breeding fee on my aunt's Abyssinian was
more than that 20+ years ago. And she couldn't breed
any offspring.

Maybe you could get a package deal with that $100 rooster from the other night.

What part of CL are you guys looking at, a 300
dollar Cat and a 100 dollar Rooster! What is the
other names for them?

I had one. I traded two $150 dogs for it.
