Just some humor!

The radar showed the heavier bands near the coast at 4 AM, but the darned thing took a hard left turn and right now is literally coming down from Maine ! Radar shows heavier bands of snow coming towards us, but we are still on the edge and it looks like something from the west is kind of holding it back from going too far west. So maybe it will do a reverse roll, eventually head out to sea, directly opposite of what we normally have, which is not weather systems from the east or directly from the north east. The radar path of this system is the first I have ever seen from that direction and I've looked at it a few times a day since late '09, thanks to these smart phones LOL ! One thing is for sure, they will get some snow east of us. Ski slopes will be good at least LOL !

That's the way it's been in Michigan for sure. If it was summer and we were this short on moisture,we'd be in pretty tough shape. I don't think we've had a major system snow yet,it's all been lake effect. The ground is barely covered and the driveways are solid ice. There hasn't been enough to plow,we just drove on it and packed down the inch or so at a time, now it's ice.

The Arctic high pressure air mass we are in is holding it away from us in the St. Lawrence River Valley area. 8 degrees some sun and strong northeast winds here now.

We've gotten about 1/2" here in S.E. Va, in the Southampton County area. It started about one o'clock this A.M as I headed home from work and been come and go. Too warm to stick to anything but grass/cold surfaces.

Yes, it's all messed up. Here in southern Cayuga county we were going to get 2, maybe 3 inches. We got about 6" of fluff.
Some time in the past week, can't remember the day, I actually got the dozer out and scraped the hard packed snow/ice off the driveways. Ground was frozen so hard I could let the blade float, and it did a great job. Others drives with that snow packed ice under this snow are really slippery now.

CNN was trying to fill their morning show with reports from several on the scene reporters in New York covering the 6 inches they got through the night.....

It was pathetic.

I just went out and put some round bales in the field where the beefers are and it was not very pleasant with that 15 mph wind here in the great St Lawrence River Valley.
