Don't see many Olivers in this area but saw one today on a JD dealers lot. Pretty decent looking except for the home made cab! I wish I'd of had my camera with!

I've had two neighbors that had motor problems with a 1855,
but after the updates they had for them I think they were
better, I wouldn't mind one but would rather buy a 2255 to
match my g1355, match back half anyways. I to wish you had
a picture, was it an open station or did it have a cab?

I don't think he actually did read the post as orignal poster said it had a HOMEMADE CAB. So many times the responder asks a question that says they did not either read orignal post or cannot comprehend what they read and that seams to be a problem world wide with everything.

o kidding, for instance. nnalert, nnalert and Isis seem to mean 3 unrelated things

I'll try to steer this thing back on track..... I really like our 1855. Comfy operators station and plenty of power for us.

G, yes, as stated a home made one. Plywood and glass with a metal roof. Looked like siding from a pole shed. Wasn't a bad looking tractor overall. Metal and paint looked OK. Just would look better without the home made cab.

I have a handful of Olivers by me and they still get worked out in the fields. Never really paid attention close attention, but one is an 1855. Broke its exhaust manifold while being worked last year. The owner welded it back up, works ok. Had a Hiniker cab on it, but he took it off a couple of years ago.

Speaking of homemade cabs, a few years ago I ran into a fella, about 80 years old was looking to sell his VAC, so I took a look at it. At the same time, he showed me his D-15 with a homemade cab and power steering that he built from a cylinder he scrounged up and worked with some fabricated linkage and so on. That D-15 was his pride and joy. Proud of it. The homemade cab was made of angle iron and plexiglass and and the tarped engine buttoned up into it and he said it baked him out in the winter. Nice old fella, was near death he told me. Wife passed away, he was heart broken and ready to go join her is what he said. I have to admit though, as he talked about those old tractors, sure brought smiles to his face for a short time anyway. Took him back to happier times.

Anyway, I'll bet the Deere guy's wanting $$$ for that 1855.
